say anything Sunday morning

say anything
Sunday morning with your head on my arm
while the grey light behind the pale blue velvety night on brushed chrome rings on metal rails
takes me away

say anything my love
in a scattered charcoal dress with a short sleeve and high neck
from magenta bags with tiny stickers on striped tissue
like the white on white striped cotton sheets I love to toss into the memories of west coast island windows on sunlit Sundays a ferry ride and a thousand miles from right here right now

like the beautiful people who fade into the fogotten luxury of newsprint stains and hotelier coffee carafes on the silver trays and the antique twisted spoons on the linen napkins of their every day lost and alone like the ordinary

like you and I
like Sunday mornings

say anything
